Reiki
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The term "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "rei," meaning "universal," and "ki," meaning "life force energy." Practitioners believe that this universal life force energy flows through all living things and that disruptions in this energy can lead to physical, emotional, or spiritual imbalances.
During a Reiki session, a practitioner channels this healing energy by placing their hands lightly on or just above the client's body, intending to restore balance and promote healing. Reiki is often used for stress reduction, relaxation, and to support overall well-being. Although it is considered a complementary therapy, many people find Reiki to be a valuable tool for enhancing their quality of life and aiding in their healing processes. Cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers often say they feel more like themselves for longer after a session with Laura.
One FREE 30 minute session a month with our licensed Reiki Master Teacher, Laura Newberry-Yokley. To schedule, call our office at 330.287.2787.
These sessions can be done on our designated Reiki night at Wooster Community Hospital (see events page) or at Laura's Reiki Room in Wooster, OH.

Sound & Vibrational Therapy
What is Sound Healing and How can it help?
Sound healing is a growing field that has been around for thousands of years. Music has been used throughout history to create positive effects on our mood and as a form of therapy to heal the body, mind, and spirit. Many people find that after practicing sound healing techniques, they experience an increase in energy, improved mental clarity, increased creativity, and better relationships. Best of all, it’s safe, affordable, and effective.
Sound healing is a form of healing that uses specific instruments, music, tones, and other sonic vibrations to balance and heal the body, mind, and spirit. It works on two principles: That different emotions vibrate at different levels, and that blocked, or unexpressed emotions, are the main source of dis-ease. It involves using specialized sound frequencies to create a therapeutic atmosphere to promote deep rest, nervous system rebalancing, and emotional release. Ideally, a hypnotic, meditative or theta brainwave state is created which allows access to deeper levels of inner wisdom and healing.
A sound therapy treatment is performed using music or other sounds that you listen to while lying down or comfortably seated. Focusing on these soothing vibrations helps you relax and release stress, anxiety, and tension. It also encourages deep breathing and, may include meditation prompts and visualization exercises as well.
Conditions Sound and Vibrational Therapies Treat
Along with improved mental clarity, mood, tranquility and relaxation, sound healing has been known to help treat such conditions as stress, anxiety, high blood pressure, depression, grief, sleep disorders, pain, digestive issues, tinnitus, and autism. In addition vibrational healing can ease blockages and tension, boost creativity, improve concentration, as well as balance energy fields (auras) and chakras.
